Barrister Dr. Saif, spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has stated that there is no deadlock in the ongoing Kohat Grand Jirga.
In his message, Barrister Saif clarified that the jirga is still in progress, and while one party requested time for consultation, which caused a temporary delay, there is no impasse. He added that once an agreement is reached on the return of weapons and the reopening of the main highway, the government will take further action.
He also mentioned that the government will establish its own posts for the security of the Tull Parachinar road by dismantling private checkpoints. Four hundred police personnel will be deployed, and two platoons of the FC will also be stationed in the area. Barrister Saif further stated that the government will challenge the sentences from military courts in higher courts.
