In a move aimed at facilitating citizens and promoting digital transactions, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced that the M-Tag facility will be available free of cost across the country until August 15. The NHA has urged the public to obtain their free M-Tags as soon as possible, as they will be mandatory for the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) starting August 16.
The M-Tag system is designed to save time and reduce travel expenses, ensuring that public funds are managed through transparent digital transactions. With the M-Tag facility, commuters will no longer need to stop at toll booths, reducing congestion and making travel more efficient.
To facilitate access, the NHA has established multiple options for recharging M-Tags, including customer care services, drive-thru booths, and service areas. Payments can be made using credit/debit cards, EasyPaisa, and JazzCash, making it easy for people to recharge their M-Tags on the go.
The introduction of the M-Tag system is part of the NHA’s efforts to modernize the country’s highway network and promote digital payments. By making the M-Tag facility free until August 15, the NHA is encouraging citizens to adopt this convenient and efficient system.
The mandatory implementation of M-Tags on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway starting August 16 marks the initial phase of the NHA’s plan to roll out the system across the country. As the system expands, it is expected to reduce travel times, lower fuel costs, and increase transparency in toll collection.
