A fresh polio vaccination campaign has begun in Balochistan, targeting 16 districts, after three new cases of polio were reported in the province. The government has made it clear that eradicating polio is a top priority, and health workers will be going door-to-door to ensure children receive the necessary vaccination.
The seven-day campaign aims to vaccinate 951,488 children, with 3,884 teams, 326 fixed sites, and 222 transit sites established to achieve this goal. Security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of health workers.
The campaign is a response to the detection of poliovirus in environmental samples and sewage water, posing a significant risk to children\’s health. Parents are urged to participate in the campaign and ensure their children receive the vaccination, considering it a national duty.
