The National Highway Authority (NHA) has informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that a new motorway between Karachi and Hyderabad is under consideration. This development comes after the NHA had petitioned the SHC in 2017 against the Sindh government’s move to reduce the limit of the right of way (ROW) and nullify mutation entries.
The NHA had argued that the Sindh government’s actions were taken without the approval of the competent authority and without making any payment to the NHA. Later, dozens of individuals also approached the court, claiming ownership of the subject land.
The SHC has passed an order on the petitions, but the details of the order have not been disclosed.
