Islamabad (News Desk): Spokesperson for PTI’s negotiation committee, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, has stated that if the decision on the £190 million case is unfavorable, it will undoubtedly have an impact on the ongoing negotiations. In an interview, Hamid Raza emphasized that Imran Khan, the founder and leader of PTI, is integral to the party’s decision-making process, and they cannot move forward without consulting him. He called on the government to allow detailed consultations with Imran Khan.
Raza reiterated that Imran Khan’s release would be in accordance with Pakistan’s laws and clarified that Khan has made it clear he would not accept any foreign interference. He added that the government does not have the decision-making power at present, but if it claims such authority, PTI is ready for negotiations. He emphasized that PTI has not made any demands that are unlawful or unconstitutional, specifically calling for the release of political prisoners according to the law.
Regarding the establishment of a judicial commission, Raza noted that the law provides for such a commission, and if any individuals are held responsible, PTI will clearly reject such actions. He stressed that the commission should include Supreme Court judges.
Raza also pointed out that political changes, such as the 26th Amendment, have politicized the judiciary. He expressed confidence that PTI would soon return to power, particularly after Imran Khan’s release, and he reiterated the hope that a meeting with the PTI founder will take place on Monday. He further stated that meetings of committees would follow soon after the meeting with Imran Khan, as previously agreed.
Lastly, Raza stated that if decisions are made in accordance with the constitution and the law, the £190 million case would have no significant impact. However, a negative decision would certainly affect the negotiation process.
