FATA and Karachi Blues emerged victorious in their respective matches in the National T20 Cup on Monday, with FATA defeating Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) by four wickets, while Karachi Blues outclassed Quetta by seven wickets.
AJK won the toss and opted to bat first, but their innings ended at 149 all out. Hasnain Nadeem was the standout batter, scoring 53 runs with four fours and four sixes, while Hassan Raza contributed 33 runs. The duo added 86 runs for the first wicket.
For FATA, Moaz Khan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets for just 11 runs. Aizaz Khan took three wickets, while Shahid Aziz grabbed two scalps.
Chasing 150, FATA reached the target in the 18th over, losing six wickets along the way. Muhammad Farooq led the charge with a 51-run knock, which included six fours and two sixes, while Muhammad Naeem scored 30 runs. The opening duo put together a 76-run partnership, setting up the win.
In the second match of the day, Karachi Blues won the toss and sent Quetta in to bat. Quetta struggled to build momentum, managing 138/9 in their 20 overs. Hasibullah top-scored with 46 runs, but the innings never took off.
Muhammad Asghar was the star with the ball for Karachi Blues, picking up 4 wickets for 19 runs.
In response, Karachi Blues chased the target comfortably in the 17th over, losing just three wickets. Ramiz Aziz played a match-winning knock of 56 not out, hitting four sixes and five fours, while Abdullah Fazal chipped in with 40 runs.
For his stellar batting display, Ramiz Aziz was named Player of the Match.
