ISLAMABAD:After a four-day closure, all motorways across Pakistan have been reopened, providing much-needed relief to commuters, according to motorway authorities. The Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M-2), a critical route for both passenger and commercial traffic, has resumed operations, restoring a vital link between the federal capital and Punjab’s capital.
Similarly, the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway is now operational, improving connectivity within the region and easing travel for residents and businesses relying on this corridor.
Authorities have also confirmed the reopening of Motorways M-3, M-4, and M-5, which connect key cities and industrial hubs across the country. The restoration of these routes is expected to facilitate smoother travel and reduce transportation delays that had affected both intercity passengers and the supply chain.
The reopening of these major highways comes as a significant relief for travelers, logistics companies, and businesses that were impacted by the extended closures. Motorway authorities have urged commuters to stay updated on travel advisories and follow safety guidelines to ensure smooth and safe journeys.
