The federal government is striving to ensure the commencement of Ramadan across the country on the same day. In this regard, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a meeting on February 28 in Peshawar to sight the Ramadan crescent.
According to a notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Astronomers suggest that the birth of the Ramadan moon in Saudi Arabia is expected on the night of February 28.
Meanwhile, zonal moon sighting committees will also hold meetings at their respective locations. The final decision regarding the sighting of the crescent will be made by the central committee based on received testimonies.
