Pakistan’s batting consultant, Mohammad Yousuf, has made himself available for the national team’s New Zealand tour after his daughter’s health improved.
Yousuf, who had initially withdrawn from the tour due to his daughter’s illness, has now confirmed his participation, stating that doctors have assured him of her stable condition.
“My daughter’s health is better now, so I have decided to travel with the team,” Yousuf said.
The former cricketer emphasized that representing the national team is a duty, and he is now ready to join the squad as they prepare for the five-match T20I and three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
Yousuf had earlier informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his decision to stay back due to family reasons, and the board had opted not to appoint a replacement for him.
His return will now provide a much-needed boost to the team’s batting preparations, especially as they gear up to face New Zealand in challenging home conditions.
The Pakistan team is set to depart for New Zealand on March 12, with Yousuf now back in the coaching setup for the crucial series.
