Islamabad:Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, has suggested the possibility of a military trial for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. Emphasizing the importance of political dialogue, Sanaullah stated that discussions are the only way to resolve political disputes.

In an interview, Rana Sanaullah sharply criticized Imran Khan, accusing him of inciting economic turmoil and the May 9 riots through his speeches. He asserted that military courts will deliver a verdict on the May 9 incident within a week.

The advisor reiterated his commitment to holding the PTI leader accountable, indicating that if found guilty of orchestrating the violent events, Imran Khan could face prosecution under the Military Act. “PTI is synonymous with Imran Khan, as no decision within the party is made without his approval,” said Sanaullah, adding that the PTI chief appears unwilling to engage in dialogue beyond seeking his release.

On the issue of the Madrassa Registration Bill, Rana Sanaullah supported Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance, describing it as valid. He expressed optimism that the matter would be resolved in the coming days.

Additionally, Rana Sanaullah inaugurated the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games organized by the Pakistan Sports Board. Speaking at the opening ceremony, he highlighted the youth as a valuable national asset, vowing to protect them from being influenced by “agitators and disruptors.”
