Meta has introduced a significant update for WhatsApp, allowing users to link their accounts to Meta’s Account Center. This integration enables seamless management of WhatsApp alongside Facebook, Instagram, and Quest accounts.
One of the standout features of this update is the ability for users to cross-post their WhatsApp Status as Stories directly to Facebook and Instagram. This eliminates the need to manually upload the same content across multiple apps, streamlining the sharing process.
Additionally, Meta is introducing a single sign-on feature, allowing users to log into multiple Meta apps with a single account. This feature aims to enhance user convenience and accessibility.
Users will have the option to link their accounts to the Account Center voluntarily, as the feature will be disabled by default. Meta has also assured that WhatsApp messages and calls will remain protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring user privacy even after linking accounts.
Meta’s Account Center was launched in 2020 to provide users with a centralized hub for managing its apps. Until now, it only supported Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Quest accounts. The addition of WhatsApp marks a significant expansion of this feature.
This update reflects Meta’s ongoing efforts to unify its ecosystem while maintaining robust privacy protections for its users.
