Islamabad: Mashal Yousafzai, the focal person for Bushra Bibi, has filed a contempt of court petition against the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail in the Islamabad High Court.

In her petition, Yousafzai asserts that despite her role as Bushra Bibi’s focal person, she has been denied entry to the court premises. She claims that the Superintendent of Adiala Jail has established his own authority within the prison.

Yousafzai further alleges that the jail officials are not complying with the court’s orders or the jail manual, and her access to Adiala Jail has been blocked on three separate occasions during hearings.

The petition also highlights that Bushra Bibi, who showed courage in her arrest, had brought personal belongings with her to the jail. However, jail authorities reportedly seized the items, and the Superintendent has kept them in his own room.

“We are fighting a legal battle and will continue to fight on every front,” Yousafzai stated in the petition.
