AHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz has pledged to provide effective solutions to the political issues faced by various political parties in the country. Speaking at the launch event of the Livestock Card in Pakpattan, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the country is witnessing positive developments, with the economy showing signs of recovery.
In her address, she remarked that in the past, news of Pakistan’s potential default had dominated the headlines, with comparisons to Sri Lanka being made. However, she pointed out that the country’s stock market had reached new heights and expressed confidence that Pakistan was on the path to progress. “I believe in practical actions rather than mere words. Within just 10 months, Pakistan has begun to show tangible progress,” she stated.
Maryam also highlighted that the cost of essential commodities like flour and bread in Punjab is lower than in other provinces. She announced that 11 billion rupees had been allocated for the Livestock Card scheme, aimed at reducing inflation and providing financial relief. Under this initiative, 90,000 people will be provided with livestock cards, a step she hopes will bring prosperity to farmers’ households.
She also emphasized that the government is focusing on empowering women, with plans to provide livestock to deserving women in Punjab. Additionally, the government is introducing QR codes for the identification of animals. She criticized the opposition for spreading propaganda about the government’s policies regarding farmers and accused them of conspiring against the ruling administration.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister, addressing the event, hit back at political opponents, saying, “Some people’s mouths only spew abuse when they open.” He affirmed that his government was committed to addressing the issues faced by political parties and the country. The Chief Minister also pointed to the government’s achievements in agriculture, including meeting the wheat cultivation target and addressing the opposition’s claims that infrastructure development does not contribute to national progress. “Without roads, no nation can progress,” he asserted.
Furthermore, he announced that under the Punjab Government’s interest-free loan scheme, 100,000 houses would be built this year, with plans to provide homes for 500,000 people over the next five years. The government will bear the burden of these interest-free loans.
