51 Weddings Mark the Start of the Program; Includes Christian Couples

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched Pakistan’s first “Punjab Dhee Rani Program” in a mass wedding ceremony held in Lahore.

The event, which took place at a marriage hall, saw 51 couples, including five Christian couples, tie the knot in a collective ceremony. Maryam Nawaz congratulated the newlyweds and offered her best wishes for their future.

The ceremony included prayers led by Dr. Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi and Bishop Nadeem Kamran. The newlyweds were presented with gifts including mattresses, kitchenware, dinner sets, and other household items.

In addition to the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz also unveiled the “Dhee Rani Program Salami Card,” which will allow each bride to receive a cash gift of 100,000 Pakistani Rupees.

A lunch was also provided to the attendees by the Department of Social Welfare. During her speech, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the emotional significance of weddings for both the children and their parents. She said, “I am also a mother, and I am happy to share in your joy.”

She further expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the parents and families, wishing them happiness and blessings in the new journey of the newlyweds. “May Allah bless the start of your new life,” she added.

Maryam Nawaz also conveyed her personal joy in being part of such an emotional moment, saying, “I too am happy, and I pray that the newlyweds find joy, peace, and prosperity in their life together.”
