Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has responded to Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah’s criticism of Punjab’s electricity relief announcement, calling it “foolish”. She emphasized that the relief is part of a larger plan to introduce a solar energy project, which will permanently reduce electricity bills for consumers.

Maryam Nawaz mocked CM Murad’s criticism, saying, “I laughed when I heard someone say it’s foolish to reduce electricity prices. Isn’t it foolish to pocket money from corruption and spend it on protocol, planes, helicopters, and convoys while denying relief to the public?”

She expressed pride and happiness over the relief in electricity bills for two months and wished it could be extended to all of Pakistan, not just Punjab.

The exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions between the governments of Punjab and Sindh.
