MALAKAND: Twelve schoolchildren were seriously injured when their van plunged into a gorge in a suburban area of Malakand on Monday.
The accident occurred in the Zalimkot area when the school van, carrying children after school hours, went out of the driver’s control and fell into a deep ravine.
Local residents promptly rushed to the scene and rescued the injured children, transporting them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Batkhela, where they were provided with medical treatment.
The incident has raised concerns over road safety in the region, particularly for school transportation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
