The choice of cities abroad is a complex and important step in terms of employment, for which Mercer London has released a list of the best and worst cities in the world in its analytical report.
Merck has published its list of the world’s best liveable cities for 2024, which ranks more than 450 cities based on political, social, health, education, crime rate and 39 other key factors.
In this list, the city of Zurich in Switzerland has earned the honor of being the best city to live in by getting the highest number of marks. Austria’s Vienna is in second place, while Switzerland’s Geneva is third, Denmark’s Copenhagen is fourth, New Zealand’s Auckland is fifth and Netherlands’ Amsterdam is sixth.
Similarly, Germany’s Frankfurt is seventh, Canada’s Vancouver is eighth, and Switzerland’s Bern and Basel are ninth and tenth respectively.
Singapore was named the best city to live in Asia, ranking 30th overall. Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, is ranked 204, Karachi is 218 and Lahore is 220.
On the other hand, Sudan’s capital Khartoum was ranked at the bottom of the world’s worst cities list, ranked 241st. War-torn Iraq’s capital Baghdad ranks 240, Central African Republic’s Bangui 239, Yemen’s Sana’a 238, and Haiti’s Port-au-Prince 237.
