Previously, the Sindh government announced a public holiday on August 20 to observe the Urs of revered Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. A notification was issued by the chief secretary, stating that all government offices, semi-government offices, schools, colleges, and universities would be closed on this day, except for essential services.
