In a significant move, the Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has announced a revised retake policy for driving license tests. Candidates who fail the road test can now retake it after just 15 days, a substantial reduction from the previous 42-day waiting period.
This new facility is part of an amendment to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969, aimed at saving citizens time and streamlining the licensing process. CTO Amara Athar emphasized that the change is designed to maintain merit and transparency, with all test videos recorded and stored.
The revised policy is expected to alleviate long waiting periods, making the process of obtaining a driving license more efficient and user-friendly.
