Peshawar (News Desk): Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Dr. Saif, has assured that peace will be guaranteed in Kurram under all circumstances, and those disrupting peace will be dealt with firmly. In a statement, he condemned the attack on the Deputy Commissioner, calling it a failed attempt to sabotage peace. He urged the people of Kurram to stay vigilant against anti-peace elements and cooperate with the administration and government to ensure lasting peace in the region.

Barrister Dr. Saif mentioned that the Chief Minister has taken strict notice of the incident and directed that those responsible be brought to justice. Due to security concerns, the convoy has been temporarily halted, but it will be sent on its way once clearance is received.

Meanwhile, despite the peace agreement signed two days ago, the Parachinar-Till Main Highway in Kurram remained closed to all traffic on Sunday, causing severe difficulties for the public. The population of Upper Kurram, totaling around 400,000, remains stranded, with the supply of essential goods disrupted.

A protest sit-in against road blockages, unrest, and terrorism continues in front of the Kurram Press Club, with a large number of participants braving the cold. Protesters have vowed to continue the sit-in until the road is reopened and its security is ensured.

A similar protest is ongoing in the Baggan area of Kurram, with participants stating that they will continue their demonstration until a relief package is provided.

The district administration has confirmed that a convoy of 80 vehicles has been stopped and will be allowed to proceed once the road is cleared.
