Renowned Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu has strongly denied claims of performing for former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. A viral video allegedly showed Sanu singing at a concert related to Khan’s release, but Sanu clarified that his voice was digitally altered using artificial intelligence.
Sanu shared a fact-checked article on Instagram, stating, “I want to clarify that I have never sung any song for Pakistan’s former Prime Minister. The audio circulating on Facebook is not my voice—it has been created using AI.”
He expressed concern over the misuse of technology and urged the Indian government to take action against the abuse of AI and deepfake technology, saying, “Let’s stop the spread of misinformation #fakenews.”
The original video was from Sanu’s concert in Brisbane earlier this year, but was digitally altered to create the false narrative.
