Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly condemned the firing incident on a government convoy in the Bagan area of Kurram. He expressed his determination to restore complete peace in the region and called for community cooperation in achieving this goal.
In a statement, the Chief Minister ordered a detailed report from senior officials regarding the attack on Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud’s convoy and vowed strict legal action against those responsible. He also conveyed his best wishes for the swift recovery of the Deputy Commissioner and others injured in the incident.
Terming the attack “deeply unfortunate and condemnable,” CM Gandapur described it as a deliberate attempt to sabotage peace efforts in Kurram. He stated, “This incident reflects the malicious intent of those who do not wish to see peace in the region. However, the provincial government is fully committed to addressing public concerns and ensuring lasting peace in Kurram.”
Highlighting the recent peace agreement as evidence of the local community’s desire for stability, the Chief Minister assured residents that the government will counteract the activities of miscreants who seek to disrupt harmony.
“The provincial government, in collaboration with local leaders and residents, will thwart these nefarious efforts. I urge the community to assist the authorities in identifying and bringing these elements to justice,” he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized that such incidents would not derail the government’s and community leaders’ collective efforts to establish peace. “We will persevere in our mission until the region enjoys complete stability,” he added.
