PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was not granted permission to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Monday.
The chief minister arrived at Adiala Jail along with his entourage to visit the detained PTI leader. However, Gandapur and his convoy were stopped outside Gate No. 5 of the prison and denied entry.
According to jail authorities, no prior approval for the meeting had been received, leaving the KP chief minister and his protocol waiting outside the premises. After a brief standoff, the officials informed Gandapur that they were unable to facilitate the meeting at this time.
Following the denial, the chief minister departed from Adiala Jail and proceeded towards Gorakhpur along with his protocol.
This development comes amid growing restrictions on political access to Imran Khan, who has been under custody since his recent conviction.
