PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is actively engaged in negotiations aimed at improving the country’s future.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gandapur clarified that Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, has returned to Pakistan, and talks will resume shortly. He explained that the delay in the negotiation committee’s meetings was due to the Speaker’s absence from the country, but individual meetings with the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, have been ongoing.
Addressing concerns about governance and institutional performance, Gandapur stressed the importance of strengthening institutions for the country’s development. He criticized the existing system for instilling fear among officials, which, according to him, hinders progress. “There is a constant fear of being caught before any work can even begin,” he lamented, adding that institutions combating corruption should first address their own shortcomings.
Gandapur emphasized that institutions were not established to instill fear but to facilitate progress. “To move forward, we must break free from the fear that has paralyzed our institutions,” he stated.
On the issue of cabinet reshuffles, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM dismissed rumors circulating on social media. He asserted, “I will make changes in the cabinet myself, not through social media.”
