Karisma Kapoor, a renowned Bollywood actress, has refuted long-standing rumors that women in her family are not allowed to work in the industry after marriage. In a recent appearance on Zakir Khan’s show, Aapka Apna Zakir, Karisma clarified that these rumors are baseless and that working in the industry is a personal decision made by the women in her family.

Karisma explained that her mother, Babita Kapoor, and aunt, Neetu Kapoor, chose to leave acting to focus on their families and have children, while her uncle’s wives, Geeta Bali and Jennifer, continued to work in the film industry by choice. She emphasized that there is no restriction on women in her family from working after marriage.

Karisma’s sister, Kareena Kapoor, had previously shared that it was challenging for women to balance work and family in the 70s, leading many actresses to stop working after marriage. However, Kareena expressed gratitude for their father’s support for Karisma’s acting career in the 90s.
