Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan, is bracing itself for light to moderate showers in the next 24 hours, as the monsoon spell continues to affect various parts of the country. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the city’s maximum temperature is likely to reach 32°C, with a 10-kilometer wind blowing from the west and a humidity level of 89%.
Weather expert Jawad Memon has predicted that light rain may occur in Karachi due to clouds, with a possibility of moderate rain at a few places. A light sea breeze is currently blowing in Karachi, and there is a chance of rain in the city’s northeastern areas after noon.
The PMD has also forecasted that monsoon winds will enter East Sindh from August 16, resulting in likely thundershowers in Karachi, Ghotki, and Sukkur between August 16 and 19. There is also a chance of thundershowers in Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Sanghar, and Thatta.
This spell of rain comes as a relief to the citizens of Karachi, who had been experiencing extreme heat last month. The light rain spells in recent weeks have already turned the weather pleasant, and the upcoming showers are expected to bring further respite.
