Karachi: Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has issued directives to prioritize the removal of encroachments causing traffic congestion in the city.
All Deputy Commissioners have submitted reports to the Karachi Commissioner regarding their actions against encroachments in their respective districts. The reports also highlighted efforts to remove encroachments by individuals operating hotels on footpaths, service roads, and streets.
Deputy Commissioner East Abrar Jafar, in his report, stated that Assistant Commissioner Bilal Alvi had removed the encroachments established by Noorani Kebab House along Shahrah-e-Qaideen. The establishment had occupied the service road, causing significant disruption to traffic flow and pedestrians.
Decision to Beautify Major Roads and Improve Footpath Conditions
The Commissioner has further directed that measures be taken to prevent the re-establishment of these encroachments by district administrations.
According to the report, Assistant Commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Rahim Sheikh, conducted operations in the Gulistan-e-Johar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas. He removed encroachments causing traffic obstructions at various locations, including from Samama to the Meteorological Department.
