Karachi: Supreme Court’s senior puisne judge, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, stated that he harbors no grievances over not being appointed as the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Speaking at a ceremony at the City Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah expressed contentment with his current role, emphasizing that he holds no complaints against anyone. He extended his best wishes to the current Chief Justice of Pakistan, acknowledging his competence and leadership.
Addressing the significance of the judicial oath, Justice Shah remarked that it is not just a verbal commitment but a solemn pledge to uphold the principles of justice. “This oath teaches us how to act during challenging times and whom to stand by,” he said.
He warned that violating this oath would lead to the collapse of the justice system. Comparing it to holding water in one’s hands, he noted, “If you open your hands, nothing remains.” He also highlighted the legal profession’s reliance on continuous learning and knowledge acquisition.
Quoting poet Allama Iqbal, he concluded:
“Parwaz hai dono ki usi ek fiza mein,
Karkaz ka jahan aur hai, Shaheen ka jahan aur hai.”
(“Both soar in the same sky, but the world of the vulture is different from that of the falcon.”)
