Islamabad(TheCOWNews Digital)Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has strongly condemned Israel’s aggression on Iran, warning that if the Muslim world does not unite now, “every Muslim country will face similar threats eventually.”

Addressing the National Assembly during a budget debate session chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Asif shifted focus from economic matters to the escalating regional tensions, particularly Israel’s recent strikes on neighboring Iran.

“Iran is our brotherly Islamic country,” said Asif. “Our cultural, historical, and spiritual ties with Iran are deep-rooted, perhaps unmatched in modern history. Today, Israel targets not just Iran, but also Yemen and Palestine. If the Muslim world fails to unite now, everyone’s turn will come.”

The defense minister called for an urgent OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) summit, criticizing the lack of a strong response from Muslim-majority nations. “Even non-Muslim countries are waking up to the atrocities, but the Muslim world remains silent,” he lamented.

Referring to past political events, Asif criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, particularly for the controversial return of captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, calling it a “surrender” that harmed Pakistan’s national dignity.

“In contrast,” he noted, “today’s civil and military leadership showed exceptional courage and unity in responding to Indian aggression. Our armed forces and air force performed heroically, and this restored the nation’s confidence in its defenders.”

Praising Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Khawaja Asif also commended the current government for regaining the trust of international financial institutions and taking significant steps toward economic stability.

“We’re not claiming everything is perfect — people are still facing challenges — but we are moving forward. With sustained leadership under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the coming months could bring real economic progress,” he added.

In a message to opposition leaders, Asif said, “Politics should not revolve around a single individual. No political party is a shrine. It must prepare new leadership to ensure continuity. Obsessing over one person is not patriotism; it’s personal cultism.”

Khawaja Asif’s address blended geopolitical urgency with domestic political reflection, urging unity — both nationally and across the Muslim world — in the face of rising international and regional tensions.
