Israel Agrees Release 600 Palestinian Prisoners in Exchange Deal

A new prisoner exchange agreement has been reached between Hamas and Israel, under which Israel will release over 600 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the bodies of four Israeli hostages.

Israeli media confirmed that obstacles to the ceasefire deal have been resolved, and the release of Palestinian detainees is expected today. Following their release, Hamas will transfer the bodies of the Israeli hostages to Israel through Egypt.

As per the agreement, Hamas will not hold a formal ceremony for handing over the bodies. Meanwhile, U.S. envoy Steve Witzkoff stated that Israeli representatives have departed for talks on the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire.
