The second round of negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) concluded on a positive note, chaired by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
In a statement, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq mentioned that the opposition presented several demands, and further deliberation would require another session. “A third round of talks is scheduled for next week,” he confirmed.
He added that the opposition committee would hold another meeting with PTI’s founder. “The discussions were even more cordial than before, with everyone focused on the betterment of Pakistan,” Sadiq said.
The joint communiqué highlighted that PTI representatives, including Omar Ayub Khan, shared their detailed perspective during the meeting. PTI’s committee emphasized the release of their founder and all detained workers.
Additionally, PTI demanded the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26. The PTI committee is set to consult with its founder before finalizing and presenting a Charter of Demands at the next session.
The dialogue underscores a commitment to resolving political tensions through constructive engagement and mutual understanding.
