ISLAMABAD: A delegation of tribal elders from Orakzai met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday to discuss the challenges facing their region, particularly regarding law and order.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted various issues affecting the area and requested Maulana Fazlur Rehman to play an active role in addressing the law and order situation.
The tribal leaders expressed their agreement with Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance on the FATA merger, stating that had his concerns been addressed earlier, the current difficulties could have been avoided.
They also lauded his role in the 26th Constitutional Amendment, commending his efforts for the betterment of tribal areas. Additionally, the delegation assured their full support for the implementation of the Madaris Act and reaffirmed their loyalty to JUI’s vision.
The elders invited Maulana Fazlur Rehman to visit Orakzai and pledged full participation in any future calls for gatherings in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by key JUI representatives, including Mufti Tahir and Maulana Abdul Salam from Orakzai, as well as JUI spokesperson Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and Mufti Ubaidullah.
