Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi has revealed that the accused in the murder of 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousuf had wanted to befriend her. After repeated rejection of his advances by the victim, the suspect took the extreme step.

Speaking at a press conference alongside DIG and SSP officials, IG Rizvi described the case as a major challenge for Islamabad police and the nation. Sana, a talented young social media star, had gained significant recognition in society at just 17 years old.

The IG detailed that Sana was shot twice inside her home on June 2 at around 5 p.m. Following the incident, seven investigation teams were immediately formed, employing cellular technology and digital surveillance to track the suspect.

Over 113 CCTV footages were reviewed, and details of more than 300 phone calls were examined during the investigation.

IG Rizvi emphasized the importance of identifying the suspect and understanding why the young TikToker’s voice was silenced, confirming that the suspect acted after Sana repeatedly refused his friendship proposals.
