Interior Minister Announces Upgrade of National Police Academy to University Status

Islamabad (News Desk) – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the elevation of the National Police Academy (NPA) to the status of a university. During his visit to the academy, Naqvi conducted a detailed inspection of the academy’s facilities, including the hostel and mess, and reviewed the provisions available for the training officers. He also met with the officers in training to inquire about the facilities provided to them.

In addition to the announcement of the upgrade, the Interior Minister convened a meeting for the restructuring of the National Police Academy. He emphasized the need to develop a new master plan for the academy in collaboration with an international consultant, ensuring that it meets global standards. Naqvi directed that the new master plan be prepared immediately.

He also stated that the National Police Foundation would soon issue a check of 250 million rupees to the NPA. The restructuring work of the academy is expected to be completed within three months.

Furthermore, Minister Naqvi instructed that the necessary steps be taken immediately to grant university status to the National Police Academy. He assured that highly qualified officers, similar to those at the Military Academy Kakul, would be appointed at the NPA.
