Infighting Between Prisoners at Adiala Jail Leaves One Inmate Injured

A violent altercation between two inmates at Adiala Jail resulted in one prisoner being injured with a knife. The incident occurred on August 29 near Chakar Masjid within the jail premises.

According to the case filed at the Sadar Baruni police station, Havalati Atesh Hussain, who is under arrest for a murder charge, attacked fellow inmate Anjum during a heated argument. Atesh Hussain used a self-made cutter to inflict injuries on Anjum’s neck, head, and shoulders.

The injured inmate was immediately provided medical attention, and his medical examination report has been attached to the case file. Assistant Superintendent Imran Shahzad lodged a complaint, and the case has been registered against Atesh Hussain.

Chief Warden Nawab Khan and Warden Riaz Iqbal, who witnessed the incident, have also provided their statements as part of the investigation. The authorities are now reviewing the circumstances that led to this dispute and will take necessary action based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
