Sitanshu Kotak to Take Over as India’s New Batting Coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed a new batting coach after growing concerns over the team’s poor performance and continuous defeats.

Ahead of the Champions Trophy, the Indian team has faced criticism due to internal conflicts and losses. In response, the BCCI has appointed Sitanshu Kotak, a former domestic cricket legend from Saurashtra, as the new batting coach just days before the mega event. This move has raised questions, particularly about the future of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir.

Ignoring big names, the Indian cricket board has opted for Kotak, who will be responsible for the upcoming home white-ball series against England. The current coaching staff includes Head Coach Gautam Gambhir, Bowling Coach Morné Morkel, Fielding Coach T. Dilip, and Assistant Coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate. Prior to this, the Indian team did not have a dedicated batting coach.

According to reports, Kotak will take over his new role ahead of the Champions Trophy, with India set to play a series of five T20s and three ODIs against England starting from January 22.
