The Indian Air Force (IAF) has acknowledged losses incurred during recent combat with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), though it refrained from providing specific details about the damage.
According to a report by Reuters, the IAF stated that losses are part of any battle, but assured that all pilots who participated in this week’s fighting have safely returned home.
During a press conference, IAF officials were asked about the number of aircraft lost in the conflict with Pakistan and the extent of the damage. While they confirmed the losses, they chose not to disclose further specifics.
Earlier, just hours after India announced airstrikes on Pakistan, sources in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir informed Reuters that three Indian warplanes had been shot down.
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had previously reported that the Pakistan Air Force had downed five Indian aircraft during the clashes.
