BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has stated that India’s cricket team did not travel to Pakistan due to a lack of government approval. He praised the hybrid model, calling it an effective solution that has enabled matches between the two sides.
Speaking at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Shukla emphasized that bilateral cricket cannot take place until the BCCI receives clearance from the Indian government. He reiterated that the Indian team plays based on performance rather than pitch conditions.
Shukla also expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s hospitality, acknowledging the country as the host of the ICC Champions Trophy. He confirmed that India’s matches will be held in Dubai as per prior agreements.
He further noted that it was a positive development to see an ICC tournament return to Pakistan after a long time, applauding the smooth organization of the event.
