Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has issued instructions regarding Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman, which will be conveyed, PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja said on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media outside Central Jail after meeting Khan, Raja told The News that discussions took place on the opposition alliance but declined to share further details.
Raja emphasized that PTI respects Fazlur Rehman and wants him to join the opposition alliance.
Raja also dismissed rumors about Imran Khan’s health, stating that while many false reports had circulated, the former prime minister was in good health following a routine check-up.
Furthermore, Raja refuted claims that Imran Khan was being deprived of suhoor (the pre-dawn meal for fasting) or restricted from performing religious activities.
Addressing a controversial statement by Barrister Saif, adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, Raja said PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram had been tasked with questioning him about the remarks.
Raja confirmed that Imran Khan had no complaints about the party and that discussions focused on future strategies. He added that Khan has not met his political allies for the past five months, and instructions have been given to address this.
On legal matters, Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas has been appointed as the legal representative for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Faisal Chaudhry has been instructed to transfer all petitions to Abbas.
Raja criticized certain individuals for leveraging legal representation to gain political influence, stressing that those entrusted with responsibilities by Imran Khan should remain focused on politics.
Additionally, Niazullah Niazi has been appointed as Khan’s spokesperson, while Bushra Bibi has designated four focal persons to handle her legal and political affairs.
Meanwhile, family members and lawyers visited Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, at Adiala Jail.
According to jail sources, Aleema Khan, Dr. Uzma Khan, Noreen Khanum, and Qasim Khan (Imran Khan’s cousin) met the couple. The meeting lasted approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
Later, party lawyers, including Barrister Salman Safdar, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Barrister Ali Zafar, Naeem Haider Panjotha, Mubashir Maqsood Awan, Khalid Yousaf, Faisal Chaudhry, Rai Salman Kharal, and Tabish Farooq Advocate, met with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for approximately half an hour.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan dismissed rumors that Imran Khan was suffering from an ear infection or any other illness.
Aleema Khan stated that it was her first meeting with Imran Khan in a week and confirmed that all of his court hearings had been postponed. She also mentioned meeting Bushra Bibi.
Describing Khan as healthy and in good spirits, she dismissed rumors about his health, attributing them to social media operatives acting as informants for the establishment.
Aleema Khan questioned the sources of these rumors and denied claims that Imran Khan was suffering from a brain infection. However, she criticized the authorities for not allowing Khan’s personal doctor to meet him and for restricting his communication with his children.
