Imran Khan’s Candidacy for Oxford University Chancellorship

Candidacy Confirmation: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, will contest the elections for Chancellor of Oxford University despite being imprisoned .

Election Process: The election will be conducted online for the first time, allowing Oxford University graduates to participate .

Vacancy: The seat became vacant after the resignation of Lord Patten, who held the position for 21 years .

Other Candidates: Former British prime ministers Sir Tony Blair and Boris Johnson are also running for the position .

Imran Khan’s Background: Imran Khan studied Economics and Politics at Keble College, Oxford in 1972 and captained the university’s cricket team . He also served as the chancellor of Bradford University from 2005 to 2014 .

Public Demand: Imran Khan’s advisor, Zulfi Bukhari, stated that Khan will contest the election due to public demand .
