RAWALPINDI ( The COW News Digital)Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has issued a stern warning to party leaders, condemning deliberate attempts to create internal divisions, especially in the wake of the recent Lahore gathering.
In a message delivered through his sister, Aleema Khan, after a jail meeting in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan said that while he and other leaders are behind bars, party members are engaging in unnecessary disputes. He urged them to set aside personal differences and focus entirely on the party’s political movement.
Aleema Khan, flanked by her two sisters, briefed the media outside Adiala Jail. She conveyed Imran Khan’s two key messages. First, he strongly criticized the conditions in jail, claiming his fundamental rights were being violated by the prison superintendent and a “Colonel Sahib.” He lamented that his access to TV and newspapers had been cut off and labeled the treatment as inhumane, allegedly carried out at the behest of one individual.
The second message was directed toward PTI leadership. Imran Khan said that internal rifts over the Lahore meeting were intentionally being stoked to destabilize the party. “We are sitting in jails while you are creating divisions,” he reportedly told the leadership, warning that anyone causing dissent would be personally dealt with. He expressed satisfaction over the unity shown by 300 parliamentarians traveling together to Lahore and urged continued solidarity.
Aleema added that the Khan family remains fully committed to the party’s vision and emphasized the importance of acting upon Imran’s directives. She demanded an immediate end to the inhumane jail conditions faced by her brother and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
PTI leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar also spoke to reporters, revealing that the party’s movement in Lahore would continue until August 5. He mentioned a recent meeting with the Speaker concerning 26 assembly members and asserted that the opposition’s right to protest cannot be denied.
Legal advisor Salman Akram Raja reaffirmed Imran Khan’s instructions regarding public communication. “The party will not distribute tickets based on money. We must stay united,” he said.
The statements underscore internal challenges facing PTI as it attempts to regroup under difficult political and legal circumstances.
