Rawalpindi – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has warned that if his two key demands are not fulfilled, he will call on overseas Pakistanis to halt remittances to the country.
Speaking to the media, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, revealed his stance, stating that overseas Pakistanis are prepared to stop sending remittances in response to the worsening economic conditions. “Millions have fallen below the poverty line since the removal of the PTI government, and people are facing severe financial hardships,” she added.
Aleema Khan criticized the government, accusing it of mismanaging the economy and prioritizing access to dollars. She alleged that while the ruling elite transfers their wealth abroad, hardworking overseas Pakistanis send dollars home to keep the economy afloat.
Referring to what she called the “London Plan,” Aleema Khan claimed there was a conspiracy to systematically dismantle PTI, including stripping it of its electoral symbol. “Ten buildings were reportedly set ablaze, yet 10,000 individuals were arrested unjustly,” she stated.
She also criticized the alleged manipulation of the February 8 elections, claiming the mandate of the people was stolen to establish a “fake government” on February 9. “The state violence witnessed during the peaceful protest on November 24 is evidence of the suppression of innocent civilians,” she asserted.
Aleema Khan demanded the formation of a judicial commission led by three senior Supreme Court judges to investigate these incidents and called for the release of all innocent detainees.
She further revealed that Imran Khan has been receiving strong support from overseas Pakistanis, who are ready to back his call for halting remittances. However, senior PTI leaders have urged caution, suggesting a delay to avoid further economic damage.
Imran Khan reportedly agreed to wait for a few more days to observe the government’s response to his demands. “This situation will not end until justice is delivered,” Aleema Khan concluded.
