Islamabad: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has written a lengthy letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, and the head of the constitutional bench, Justice Ameen-ud-Din Khan, outlining concerns over the destruction of the constitutional system in Pakistan.
The 349-page letter, which includes various attached documents, calls for the Supreme Court to take full use of its constitutional powers to address the ongoing issues of injustice and to investigate public grievances. Imran Khan has urged the establishment of one or more commissions to review these complaints.
In his letter, Imran Khan highlighted that over the past 18 months, he had filed numerous petitions in the Supreme Court concerning violations of fundamental human rights and electoral processes. The petitions specifically called for the protection of basic human rights. Khan emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan does not grant the Supreme Court the role of being a mere spectator.
