In a surprising move, PTI founder Imran Khan has expressed his willingness to engage in dialogue with the military, while also criticizing the PPP and PML-N for allegedly trying to create a rift between PTI and the military.
During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan stated that he has never hurled accusations at the military and that his criticism has always been constructive. He also designated PkMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai to represent PTI in the talks.
Khan also reiterated his trust in Achakzai and compared the military to “a wayward child needing discipline”, adding that criticism is the lifeblood of democracy. He referred to historical “military missteps” and likened his criticism to those aimed at General Ziaul Haq and General Yahya Khan.
However, Khan dismissed talks with political parties and questioned the legitimacy of entities like the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
