Members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged protests outside the assembly following the sentencing of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi by an accountability court.
In the 190 million-pound case, the court found Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi guilty and handed down prison sentences. Imran Khan was sentenced to 14 years in prison, while Bushra Bibi received a 7-year sentence. Additionally, both were fined, and the control of the Al-Qadir Trust and its affiliated university was transferred to the government.
Protests erupted in the Punjab and Sindh Assemblies as PTI lawmakers expressed their discontent with the verdict. During the protest, opposition members in the Punjab Assembly held banners and displayed photographs of Imran Khan. Similarly, Sindh Assembly members also rallied against the judicial decision.
