olitical circles are abuzz with news of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) meeting with the Army Chief. Ali Amin Gandapur confirmed his and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s meeting with the Army Chief, adding that they had discussed various issues.

The meeting took place during a security conference in Peshawar, where both Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur engaged in talks with the Army Chief. Upon his arrival in Islamabad for a negotiating committee meeting, the CM was questioned by the media about the discussions held during the meeting. While the CM confirmed the meeting, he also stated that the details would remain confidential.

Ali Amin Gandapur clarified that while the Army Chief had invited other political parties to the meeting, the discussion was meant to be private. He also emphasized that they were seeking the release of PTI’s founding members from court, a topic that remains under negotiation.

Opposition spokesperson for the negotiating committee, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, downplayed the meeting, calling it a formal one. He denied that Barrister Gohar had a one-on-one meeting with the Army Chief, asserting that it was a routine interaction.

In contrast, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that he and Ali Amin Gandapur had indeed presented PTI’s demands and concerns directly to the Army Chief. He reported a positive response from the other side, which he found encouraging. The discussion also covered matters related to national stability, with Gohar expressing hope that the situation would improve following the talks.
