A devastating incident occurred in Allah Dad Chand Goth, within the Phuleli Police Station jurisdiction, where a man lost his life due to the suspension of electricity supply for five consecutive days. The transformer malfunction led to the power outage, which was further exacerbated by the recent heatwave.
Locals have been struggling with the lack of electricity, and the situation became dire when they couldn’t access water to bathe the deceased due to the power outage. Residents were forced to purchase water to perform the ritual washing of the body.
Despite paying their electricity bills in full, residents have not received any power supply. They allege that HESCO (Hyderabad Electric Supply Company) staff demanded 60,000 rupees for transformer repair. Even after collecting and paying the amount, the transformer remains unfixed, according to residents.
This incident highlights the urgent need for infrastructure improvements and accountability within utility services to prevent such tragedies in the future.
