A historic shipping service between Karachi and Chittagong has been launched by NLC and DP World, marking a significant milestone in regional trade and connectivity. Since the launch of the first direct shipping service between Pakistan and Bangladesh in October, over 1,000 containers have been successfully delivered.
This service is a crucial step towards strengthening trade and regional ties in South Asia.
Container services between Karachi and Jebel Ali will begin on January 13 with NLC’s first vessel, followed by a second ship scheduled to depart by the end of January. A plan to launch an edible oil shipment in February 2025 is also in place, further expanding the scope of this collaborative initiative.
The service is expected to usher in a new era for regional trade, aimed at promoting economic growth and accelerating development in the region.
