Hot, Dry Weather Grips Pakistan; Strong Winds Expected in Plains: PMD
ISLAMABAD:(The COW News Digital) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather for most parts of the country on Monday, with extremely high temperatures expected to persist, particularly in the plains.
In the federal capital and surrounding areas, the day is likely to remain dry and intensely hot, accompanied by strong winds during the afternoon.
Punjab is also expected to experience similar conditions, with extreme heat prevailing across the plains. Strong and dusty winds may develop by afternoon, adding to the intensity of the weather.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will face hot and dry conditions as well. However, upper districts such as Chitral and Dir may see some relief later in the day, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of light rainfall in the evening and night.
The southern provinces of Sindh and Balochistan will continue to endure scorching heat and dry conditions. Strong, dusty winds are expected to blow through various districts, increasing discomfort.
Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to remain partly cloudy, particularly during the evening and night hours, offering slightly milder conditions.
In Kashmir, weather conditions will remain predominantly hot and dry throughout Monday, the PMD added.
Authorities urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, and take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
