Rawalpindi (News Desk): Senior Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Hanif Abbasi has slammed the political opponents who once vocally rejected American influence, stating that those who raised the slogans of “Absolutely Not” are now begging for power from the United States.

Addressing a press conference, Abbasi emphasized that while Pakistan is witnessing economic stability, some are still calling for civil disobedience. He pointed out the irony of protests against the International Monetary Fund (IMF), despite Pakistan being the only country where its own citizens are staging protests abroad.

Abbasi also highlighted the country’s economic progress, revealing that Pakistan has received a record $21.7 billion in remittances in just one year, with $7.5 billion coming from Saudi Arabia alone. For the first time, Pakistan recorded a surplus of 950 billion rupees, with interest rates coming down to 13%, a rise in exports, and an increase in foreign investments.

He asserted that Pakistan’s economy is gradually stabilizing, and the global community is starting to place more trust in the country. He recalled the difficult period when Pakistan’s progress was being hindered by certain groups, and a political party made repeated attempts to destabilize the country by attacking the federal government.

Abbasi condemned the use of social media by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) overseas accounts to celebrate the country’s struggles, including attempts to tarnish diplomatic relations through misleading campaigns. He emphasized that Pakistan’s foreign relations will be based on equality, and no compromise will be made on the country’s nuclear program.
